FAQ
Common questions.
Things people ask repeatedly. If your question isn't here, your assistant can answer it once you're signed in, and we'll add it to this page if we keep hearing it.
The product
What this is.
Is this a doctor?
No. It is also not a wellness app. It is the layer between them. Your AI assistant handles education, lifestyle, lab interpretation, and supplement guidance directly. A real clinician on our network reviews anything that is prescription-adjacent or that meaningfully changes a care plan before it reaches you.
Is this telehealth?
Not in the usual sense. There is no video visit with a clinician on the membership. Clinical involvement happens asynchronously through the review queue. If a Focus requires a prescriber (peptide protocols, for example), that handoff goes to our partner (Avellum) who runs the synchronous clinical interaction.
Is the AI making the call?
For education, lifestyle, lab interpretation, and supplement direction inside a doctor-defined scope: yes, in real time. For anything that touches medication, a care-plan change, pregnancy decisions, or a mental-health crisis: the AI drafts, a named clinician reviews, you see the released version. The assistant tells you, plainly, when it's handing something off.
What if my numbers come back bad?
You'll see them, with context, the moment results land. Markers outside the lab's reference range get triaged into Flagged. Your assistant drafts an interpretation, including what's worth doing next; if that next step is prescription-adjacent, a named clinician on our network reviews it before you see the formal recommendation. We don't hide bad numbers from you and we don't sit on the harder calls until your next appointment, because there isn't one.
Bloodwork
How the labs work.
How do I get my blood drawn?
Pick a Quest Diagnostics location near you when you sign up, or schedule an at-home draw through our phlebotomy partner. Both come with the membership. You will fast the morning of the draw where the markers require it; the assistant tells you exactly what "fasting" means for your panel.
What's in the baseline panel?
About a hundred biomarkers: full lipid panel, metabolic, CBC + iron studies, vitamins (D, B12, folate, homocysteine), thyroid (TSH, Free T4), inflammation (hs-CRP), kidney, liver, glucose, HbA1c, fasting insulin. Focus-specific add-on panels layer on top: hormone work for Fertility, ApoB and Lipoprotein(a) for Longevity, the HPA-axis stack for Energy/Sleep.
Can I bring in prior labs?
Yes. Upload a Quest PDF or paste the text from any lab report. The assistant pulls every biomarker out, normalizes units, and puts them on your dashboard alongside everything else. It does not invent reference ranges or LOINC codes it does not have; if a number shows up incomplete, you can correct it.
How often do I re-test?
Depends on the marker. Lipids and vitamins, twelve weeks. Thyroid pattern and HPA-axis, eight. The system queues the right interval automatically when something lands flagged or suboptimal, and keeps draw conditions consistent so the numbers are actually comparable.
Recommendations
Products and partners.
Why are supplements through Amway?
Amway has the supply-chain depth and quality controls we wanted for this layer, and the economics let us hold a single membership price without bundling a supplement charge in. You pay Amway directly for what you buy. Each recommendation cites the specific biomarker values that motivated it, so you can evaluate it before you decide.
Why are peptides through Avellum?
Peptide protocols need a prescriber. Avellum runs that clinical evaluation; we hand your context off so you do not have to recap it. If they recommend a protocol, you interact with Avellum directly from that point. We stay out of the prescribing decision.
Do you take a cut of partner purchases?
Yes. Attribution is part of the partner relationships, and it is how we hold one membership price. We disclose this because we'd want to know if we were the member. What we will not do: route a recommendation that is not supported by your data, or push a product the assistant would not have surfaced on its own.
Privacy and data
Your data, your call.
Who sees my information?
You and the clinical-network reviewer when something is queued for review. The AI uses your data to answer your questions. Our team has access under HIPAA-grade controls when we need to debug or operate the platform; every read or write is logged. We are not selling your data. That is not the business model.
Where is my data stored?
Encrypted at rest in a HIPAA-eligible Postgres database (Neon). The app runs on HIPAA-eligible hosting (Vercel). Anthropic, who powers the AI advisor, has zero data-retention configured on the API calls, so your conversations are not retained by them for training.
Is this HIPAA?
The product is built PHI-ready from day one: encryption at rest, access control, audit logging on every read or write of your information. Business-associate agreements with the underlying providers (Anthropic, Vercel, Neon) close at launch; a launch flag in the system gates real-PHI ingestion until they're signed. While we build, we run on synthetic data only.
Can I delete everything?
One click in your settings. The account soft-deletes immediately and disappears from every member-facing surface; a scheduled job hard-deletes after the legally required retention window. We can also export your data on request.
Practical
Money and timing.
What happens if I miss a check-in?
Streaks have a forgiveness mechanic. You earn a shield at 7, 14, and 30 days running; shields cap at three and auto-spend to bridge a missed day, so a single off day doesn't erase the run. This is a daily lifestyle tracker, not a guilt trip.
Is it HSA/FSA eligible?
Yes. The membership covers bloodwork-driven preventive care that qualifies under most US HSA/FSA plans. You'll have a receipt that works for reimbursement.
When can I sign up?
Invite-only while we build to launch. We are running on synthetic data until our business-associate agreements with Anthropic, Vercel, and Neon are in place. That flip is on a launch flag the team holds. If you are reading this and want a seat, the sign-in page lets you ping us.
Still have a question?
Once you are signed in, your Valdura assistant can answer most of these in context. For everything else, the team reads what comes in.
